Are you Ending a Project?

Once a construction project enters the closure phase, which is the last step in the process of completing a project and all the work on has ceased, the project can now come to a close.

When construction activities have been eliminated and all stormwater discharges associated with activities are no longer occurring, you are required as the operator to file a Notice of Termination (NOT). This should only be performed when disturbed soils at the construction site have been finally stabilized and temporary erosion and sediment control measures have been removed.

There are specific reasons that can identify the need to submit an official Notice of Intent (NOT) form.

How do you formally process and file the Notice of Termination?  The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) encourages the electronic submission of NOTs through the NPDES Stormwater Program’s electronic permitting application, available at http://www.fldepportal.com/go/.

As an alternative, NOTs may be submitted by paper copy to the following address:

NPDES Stormwater Notices Center, MS #3585

Florida Department of Environmental Protection

2600 Blair Stone Road Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2400
