Safety Mindset First

Construction sites and Industrial facilities number one goal is to ensure a safe and healthy place to work for employees, and their sub-contractors.  At KCI, we have a high regard to abide by all applicable client safety regulations and requirements pertaining to their worksite or facility.

It is critical for a stormwater compliance business like KCI who services construction and industrial clients to implement on a regular basis a rigorous safety training and education program for employees.  Environmental consultants are outside, and many times are placed in unique precarious situations such as excavation areas, muck, debris, trenches, and sometimes around dangerous chemicals.

Safety programs consist of many topics ranging from health and well-being, safety precautions to minimize accidents, workplace respect, OSHA requirements, and being a safe driver to name a few.  Teaching employee’s safety precautions at work, client locations, and being a safe driver are the most critical for KCI employee’s well-being.  We work in an environment that imposes potential hazards and dangers every day. Safety consciousness will reduce and prevent mishaps.  Simply following safety measures at work and at our customer sites can dramatically reduce and prevent accidents.

Working closely around construction and industrial sites, here are some safety protocols to follow, but not limited to:

  • Stay clear of heavy equipment, ladders, machinery, etc.
  • Be aware of potential Hazards such as biological liquids and chemicals.
  • Keep an eye on the path you are walking, avoid tripping or slipping hazards.
  • Never enter restricted or restrained spaces.
  • Always wear your personal protective equipment.
  • Operating any client machinery or equipment is strictly forbidden.
  • Follow all client on-premises rules, requirements, procedures.

Environmental Consultants drive regularly to perform stormwater inspections.  Many choices are made while driving like processing visual information, distractions, and navigating the route.  All these choices have consequences.   An effective driving education program should encompass how to eliminate risky habits, when to take a break, important driving tips, and vehicle accident protocols.

KCI is fully committed to employee safety and overall well-being.  We have put in place company guiding principles and safety education programs for a reason so we all can have a rewarding, fun, and safe employee experience.  You want to learn more about our safety program, call us today at 888.346.7779.
